Volunteer
To a great extent, the success of our dog parks is due to the dedication of our wonderful volunteers. Volunteers help us in many ways, such as:
Scheduling a regular time (i.e., weekly or monthly) to visit the park to do basic chores such as refilling the dog bag dispenser, watering plants, emptying our trash containers, etc. Tasks generally take about 30 minutes.
Helping at fundraising or special events. Each dog park group usually has one or more regular events throughout the year. Fundraising and special events usually require a lot of work, so the more help the better! Activities could include pre-event work (social media campaign; working on gift baskets, silent auctions and event donations; getting vendors, sometimes including food trucks and music), and ‘day-of’ work (such as set-up, help during event, and breakdown).
Participating in scheduled work parties for things like spreading wood chips, landscaping or other park improvement projects.
